Following is a schedule of events and activities for the
Class of 58 Reunion Steering Committee and other working committees as well. This page will be frequently updated, so
check back often and stay informed about your class activities.

Friday Evening, September 19, 2008 at the Country Club of Asheville
6 pm to 11 pm. Reunite! Reunite! Reunite! A casual evening and reception with a buffet dinner is
planned for the explicit purpose of reuniting with our classmtes. A cash bar is planned as well. The cost for Friday
evening will be $32.00 per person. A very short "ice breaker" program is included.
Saturday
Morning, September 20, 2008, 9 am to 1:00 pm.
We plan to tour our Alma Mater and reminisce away the morning.
A class photo is planned for the front steps at 9:30 and we will enjoy a catered box lunch in one of the schools
new lunch rooms. Cost: Estimate $12.00 per person. (Included is a $2.00 donation per person to the school)
Saturday Evening, September 20, 2008, 6 pm to midnight
This will be a
fun filled evening and an evening to remember at the Asheville Renaissance Hotel Ballroom. Traditional dinner/dance with music
from the fifties hosted by popular Asheville, D.J., Vince Rutherford. A longer program is planned including honoring
former teachers who attend as guests. A Cash bar will also be available until 11 pm Cost for Saturday evening
will be $44.00 per person.
(*Actual pricing could vary by a dollar or two until all donations have stopped arriving.)
August, 2006
Rex Redmon mailed reunion announcements to two-hundred-sixty classmates.
November 06.....
Five Classmates from the Upstate of SC meet at the home of Rex Redmon over coffee and desert
to form a steering committee and begin discussions for a fiftieth Class of 58 reunion. Those five classmates include
Jennie Lazenby Padgett, Jo Anne Dalton Vaughn, B.L. Coleman, Morgan Pritchard and Rex Redmon. Sidney Mitchell, Ken Cooper
and Amy Lu Bell Hatley were invited but were unable to attend.
January 4, 2007
The Steering Committee met
at the home of Jennie Lazenby Padgett for a dinner meeting. Attending the meeting were the following classmates: Jennie
Lazenby Padgett, Anne Beckham Ewald, Elaine McPhearson, Patsy Farmer Jones, Morgan Pritchard, Sidney Mitchell, Ken Cooper and
Rex Redmon.
Accountant Ken Cooper agreed to be treasurer for the Fiftieth Class of 58 Reunion and a vote of
confidence was given to Rex Redmon to continue as organizer for the event.
February 19, 2007
The Next
Schedule meeting for the Steering Committee is for February 19, 2007 at the home of Rex and Margaret Redmon in Greenville.
The location of the Steering Committe meeting for March will be March 13 at the Hendersonville Country
Club and will be hosted by classmate Patsy Farmer Jones. The Steering Committee will gather at 6:00 for dinner
and a businees meeting will follow. The main topic for the meeting will be the upcoming April 20 gathering at Amici's
Restaurant on Hendersonville Road.
The Steering Committee is inviting all Classmates who live in Western North
Carolina and Upstate South Carolina to attend a reception/dinner/meeting in Asheville on Friday, April 20, 2007.
The purpose of the reception/dinner/meeting is to bring those classmates in WNC and the Upstate together, not only
for a social celebration to kick off the reunion planning activities, but to also give those classmates an
opportunity to sign up for a working committee if they so choose.
Fiftieth Class of 58 Reunion. September

September 1, 2007
The Reunion Location Committee, charied my Anne Beckham
Ewald and members Bob Gray, Nancy Drum and Frank Fishburn, called a meeting with the Reunioon Steering Committee in
Asheville at the Country Club of Asheville on September 1, 2007. The meeting was hosted by Steering Committee members
Anne Beckham Ewald, Jo Ann Chandley Elliott and Elaine McPherson Cole.
A unanamous decision was reached by the
Steering Committee to hold both Friday evening's cookout and Saturday evening's dinner/dance at the Country Club of
Asheville. (January 25, 2008. Plans have since changed due to renovations at the CCA. Only Friday evening's
event will be held at teh CCA)
November 6, 2007
A Reunion Steering Committee dinner/meeting is
scheduled for November 6, 2007 at the house of Sidney and Vera Mitchell in Greenville who are hosting the dinner/meeting.
